The SAVES project was born from a realization that too many university students didn’t have the knowledge or ability to efficiently use energy and reduce their carbon footprint as a result. SAVES was created to educate students throughout Europe about their energy consumption and support them in realizing their sustainable goals both at university dormitories and private-rented accommodation. SAVES2 raises student awareness about energy efficiency and smart metering while also installing positive sustainability habits to last a lifetime.

UNICA and four UNICA member universities* are proud to be participating in such a successful project, which combines 11 partners from 8 countries and is coordinated by NUS UK, in the hopes of reducing fuel poverty in Europe. For more information about the project and how you can get involved, visit the official SAVES2 website: https://saves.nus.org.uk/.

SAVES 2 aspires to build and strengthen international alliances and disseminate sustainable practices throughout Europe. We are committed to making students the cornerstone of a sustainable education sector, with the hope of developing a new generation of energy-responsible citizens. Our campaign will continue until 2020, aiming to reach over 200,000 students while saving 30 GWhs of energy.
