University of Lisbon – UL

Analysis of the energy consumption by Faculties through the identification of the contributions of each constituent unit to the overall cost of energy consumption at the University of Lisbon. Identification of the indicators that affect the energy consumption per unit, such as the type of usage, number of students, size of buildings, used equipment and population behaviour.

Following to the analysis made, the Department of Sustainability suggested concrete measures in three key areas: lighting, use of equipment and access to facilities.

For an effective implementation of these measures, there were procedures established in order to ensure that the energy management plan was applied. This information was internally communicated by Secretary-Coordinator of the Faculties to the employees, in order to achieve the implementation of measures and change energy consumption behaviours.
