The project "18 Schools, 18 Food Aids" is an initiative of the University of Lisbon, aiming to provide food to people and families in need.

The University of Lisbon is aware of its important role in serving the society. Through the social responsibility project, the University aims to adopt a participatory approach and promote an active civic education.

This solidarity project, carried out by the 18 Schools from the University of Lisbon, seeks to collect non-perishable food and distribute it among 18 Solidarity Institutions. Every School of the University of Lisbon was allotted an institution in the neighbourhood to facilitate the delivery of the collected food. The target of the initiative is to help 4,500 people.

This project is carried out in partnership with a Portuguese non-profit organization which supports other non-profit organizations receiving aid from the Food Bank Entrajuda.

The end of the year is a strategic time for solidarity. In this way the University launches this challenge to all schools, calling for their participation and solidarity.
